Rachel Eschner – Class 1 – Social media takeover – Module 1

Hey everyone! For this project I will be taking over the class instagram account and I will be talking about how to live a healthy lifestyle. Some of these topics will include – – –

  • Nutritious foods
  • Importance of exercise
  • Importance of sleep
  • Talk about why water is so important
  • How to manage stress especially during finals week

There are many influencers on social media that talk about health and how to eat right and exercise right. Many of the influencers help motivate people to change their lives and start getting up and moving. Some Influencers will also share personal things about them such as how they were once at rock bottom and how they bounced back from it. Three influencers that I look up to and chose to help me in my social media takeover are

  • Grace fit Uk
  • Kimberly Snyder
  • Joanne Encarnacion

Grace Fit UK

Grace helps and talks about fitness ad working out and she posts videos of her doing certain exercises and posts the descriptions of the workouts so you can do them at home. She talks about healthy food options and how to eat, she goes into depth about different healthy ways to lose weight, she helps girls get over their fear of going to the gym, she talks about other female related issues.

She has an instagram and she has a youtube as well where she posts her videos. There is also a fitness app called “AFLEETE” and you can buy her workouts for 12 weeks or more for only 30 dollars and you have it for life. I actually bought her workouts and it helps motivate me in the gym and I love her workouts.

Below I will add one of her videos from her youtube channel and I will add an example from her instagram. You are able to click directly on both the video and instagram to go directly to each one of the accounts.

Kimberly Synder

Kimberly started to activate for healthier lifestyles after she overcame her struggles with weight, acne and low self confidence. She is now a nutritionists and wrote a book called The beauty Detox Solution and is a New York Times best selling author.

She is also the nutritionists for many famous people including Channing Tatum and Reese Witherspoon.

She has a youtube account and Instagram as well! Here is a website that goes more in depth about her!

Joanne Encarnacion

Joanne has a website called gofitjo and her instagram and all other social media handles are called that as well. Joanne decided to begin this step in changing her lifestyle in 2013. She is about motivating people to live a healthier lifestyle, but one thing that I love about her and what her mindset is that she states in her website is “I believe that fitness is not about the perfect body it’s about getting your life together, overcoming fears, and building self confidence. Fitness will always be a continuous evolution of discovering who you are meant to be”

I really like that Joanne looks at fitness on all different levels and not just getting your body super physically fit.

Below I will add a video from her youtube and a clip from her instagram, and I will attach her website here as well!

I believe that all three of these influencers center on what I am going to talk about on my social media takeover of Instagram this week!

“Instagram Wants to Make It Harder to Be an Influencer”

This article goes into depth to explain that instagram may take away the the availability to see “likes” on a post. The person themself will be able to see the amount of likes they get on a picture but the people who follow them wont be able to see it.

This also has to deal with depression. It has been shown that seeing the amount of likes people get on a photo is relating to depression and how instagram causes much depression.

The downside to this is that this is how influencers make money and this is basically their job, so taking away the likes and not being able to show how popular you are as an influencer, it could temporarily hurt you.

Instagram benefits a lot over influencers. For example the market economy for influencers is about 1 billion and is only suppose to continue increasing. So it would be smart for instagram to keep the showing of the number of “likes” on a post because it benefits them tremendously

I believe that all social media can cause depression and that instagram does not have to take away the showing of “likes” to help with it. Influencers who are big on instagram such as the ones I talked about above help people everywhere by showing them health lifestyle tips and motivating them. The influencers also make money on instagram so take away the likes could hurt them financially as well.
